Curry delivers the golden dagger in Paris

Team USA captured a fifth consecutive Olympic gold medal after defeating France 98-87 in a thrilling final at Bercy Arena in Paris.

France pushed the American superteam until the closing minutes, cutting a 14-point deficit to just three with less than three minutes remaining. But Stephen Curry took over when it mattered most, hitting four three-pointers in the final 2:48 to end French hopes of a historic victory. He finished with 24 points and eight three-pointers.

Victor Wembanyama delivered one of the defining performances of his first Olympic Games, scoring 26 points as France challenged a legendary USA roster featuring Curry, LeBron James and Kevin Durant.

The victory gave the United States their 17th Olympic men's basketball title, while France claimed silver for the second consecutive Games after also losing to Team USA in the Tokyo final.
