Isak completes Liverpool's comeback against Brentford

Liverpool returned to winning ways with a dramatic 2–1 victory over Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium, as Alexander Isak marked his return from injury with the decisive goal.

The hosts struck first through Keane Lewis-Potter, whose 44th-minute header gave Brentford the advantage. However, the momentum shifted dramatically when Yehor Yarmoliuk was sent off in first-half stoppage time following a VAR review.

Liverpool made their numerical advantage count after the break. In the 62nd minute, Victor Muñoz collected a pass from Florian Wirtz before cutting inside and firing a precise left-footed shot into the bottom corner.

Just eight minutes later, Isak completed the turnaround. Bradley Barcola headed Alexis Mac Allister's cross into the striker's path, allowing the Swedish international to control the ball and finish from close range.

Brentford's afternoon ended in further frustration when Vitaly Janelt received a second yellow card in stoppage time, leaving the home side with nine players.

The result ended Brentford's unbeaten Premier League start and lifted Liverpool into fifth place, providing a much-needed response following their previous defeat to Manchester City.
