France held by Italy in Nations League clash at the Stade de France

France were held to a 1-1 draw by Italy in their UEFA Nations League meeting at the Stade de France.
After a goalless first half, Michael Olise opened the scoring in the 55th minute, finishing a clever free-kick routine with Rayan Cherki to put Les Bleus ahead.
Italy responded through Alessandro Bastoni, who capitalised on a defensive mistake to bring the visitors level. France continued to push for a winner but were unable to find a breakthrough, before Dayot Upamecano was sent off late in the game.
The result ended Zinédine Zidane’s perfect start as France head coach following victories over Turkey and Belgium, but Les Bleus remain top of their Nations League group with seven points.
A frustrating evening in Paris, but France remain in control of their campaign ahead of their next meeting with Belgium.
